We built The Fire Knight because we watched the world burn and knew it could be stopped earlier. Today, our autonomous fire detection and suppression systems protect critical infrastructure worldwide, from remote power grids to city apartments.

The 2019 to 2020 Australian Black Summer bushfires were the defining moment. In a single season, 33 people lost their lives. An estimated one billion animals perished. More than 10 million hectares of land, an area larger than South Korea, were destroyed. The fires burned for months while the world watched. The existing tools, alarms, sprinklers, and manually operated suppression, proved catastrophically inadequate for the scale and speed of what was happening in remote, high-risk environments.
Guided by that reality, founder and CEO Bill Kavvadas assembled a global team of engineers, fire safety professionals, and technology designers with one mandate: build a system that detects a fire in seconds, responds autonomously, and works where people cannot.
The result was The Fire Knight Collection, five autonomous fire detection and suppression systems, now protected under International Patent PCT/AU2023/050224, designed for every environment where fire risk is real and traditional systems fall short.
Human lives lost in the 2019 to 2020 Australian Black Summer bushfires, the direct catalyst for The Fire Knight.
Animals killed in the same fire season, underscoring the ecological cost of uncontrolled fire spread.
Hectares of land destroyed, greater than the area of South Korea, lost to fires that burned for months.
The worst wildfire season in Australian recorded history burns for months. 33 lives, one billion animals, and 10 million hectares lost. The scale reveals a critical gap in global fire protection technology
Bill Kavvadas begins assembling a global team to develop autonomous fire suppression technology. The core brief: detect faster, respond automatically, and work anywhere without human intervention.
Years of R&D produce five distinct suppression systems, The Guardian, The Protector, The Comodo, The Sentinel, and The Ranger, each engineered for a specific environment and risk profile.
International Patent Application No. PCT/AU2023/050224 is filed, protecting all Fire Knight systems across global markets including Australia, the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, and India.
The Fire Knight expands across six international markets, with products engineered for the infrastructure, climate, and regulatory requirements of each region.
Founder & CEO — The Fire Knight
Bill Kavvadas is the founder and CEO of The Fire Knight, based in Brisbane, Australia. His vision was shaped by the catastrophic 2019 to 2020 bushfire season, a moment that made clear the world needed a fundamentally different approach to fire detection and suppression in outdoor, remote, and high-risk environments.
Bill brought together a global team of engineers, fire protection specialists, and technology professionals to design a product collection that goes beyond traditional detection, building systems that detect, alert, and actively suppress fire autonomously, without requiring anyone at the site.
Under his leadership, The Fire Knight has been recognized by three international fire safety publications, secured an international patent, and launched into markets across Australia, India, the UK, USA, Canada, and Europe.

Everything we build, every product we engineer, and every market we enter flows from two simple beliefs about fire safety and the future.
We deliver autonomous fire detection and suppression systems that respond faster than any human can, protecting what matters most before a spark becomes a catastrophe. Our systems are built for the environments traditional fire protection has always ignored: remote, outdoor, vehicular, and high-risk.
We believe fire protection should be intelligent, autonomous, and universally accessible, from a remote telecom tower to a fleet truck, from a heritage building to a family home. The Fire Knight exists to close the gap between where fire suppression technology is today and where it needs to be to protect our world.
The Fire Knight is not a traditional fire extinguisher company. As a fire suppression technology company, we engineer autonomous suppression systems, a fundamentally different category of fire protection technology.
All Fire Knight systems are protected under International Patent Application No. PCT/AU2023/050224, filed across Australia, India, the UK, USA, Canada, and Europe. This is not off-the-shelf technology; it is original, protected engineering from a fire protection innovation company.
Our systems detect and respond without human activation, which is critical for remote telecom towers, unmanned substations, farms, and any location where a person may not be present when fire strikes. The system is always on duty.
Beyond basic smoke and heat, our systems use infrared flame detection, VOC sensing, CO, CO₂, and methane monitoring, and rate-of-rise temperature analysis. As an IoT fire safety company, we connect that sensing to real-time alerts, so multi-sensor confirmation eliminates false alarms while genuine threats are never missed.
All suppression uses water-based, non-toxic, biodegradable retardants that are safe for crops, wildlife, soil, and water bodies. The Guardian leaves a 14-day ground treatment that keeps protecting long after the initial event. No harmful chemicals, ever.
Fire Knight systems are designed and tested for demanding environmental conditions: extreme heat, severe weather, remote terrain, and the specific fire risks facing power, telecom, agricultural, and industrial infrastructure. These are purpose-built systems, not a generic product force-fitted to a market.
Engineered to ASME BPVC VIII Div.1, EN 13445, PD 5500, NATA, CE, and ISO 9001 standards. Full compliance documentation is available for regulatory submissions, insurance purposes, and procurement approvals across government and corporate environments.
Three of the world’s leading fire safety publications have featured The Fire Knight, recognizing the technology as a genuine advancement in global fire protection.
International Fire Protection Magazine — the leading trade publication for global fire safety professionals — features The Fire Knight as a breakthrough innovation in autonomous suppression technology.
Featured alongside global fire safety leaders including Honeywell, Siemens, Bosch, and NAFFCO
The Fire Knight was developed and patented in Australia and is now deployed across six international markets. As an Australian fire technology company, we build a genuine local presence in each region rather than simply exporting a product, with systems, support, and distribution networks matched to local infrastructure and operating environments.
The Fire Knight Collection is engineered to comply with the world’s most rigorous fire safety and pressure vessel standards, giving procurement teams, facilities managers, and regulatory bodies the assurance they need.
Full compliance documentation, test reports, and technical specifications are available on request.
The Fire Knight systems are designed as fire suppression aids and are not classified as fire extinguishers. They assist in detection, alerting, and suppression to minimize damage and provide additional response time. They may not fully extinguish all fire types or scenarios. Users should always comply with applicable local fire safety regulations and ensure appropriate primary fire protection is in place.
